THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE IS DETERMINED BY WHAT YOU DIRECT YOUR ATTENTION TO
Too often, I found myself doing and thinking about things that have become subconscious habits during the course of my life - some of them good, but some of them bad or just not suitable anymore. It took me some time to realize that I, myself, can decide to break free from the ones not serving me anymore - I started taking control of my own story and defining the rules of the game I want to play.
“Progress is impossible without change; and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything” (George Bernard Shaw)
THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF LIFE FORCED ME TO CREATE MY OWN, ANTIFRAGILE COMPASS
founding a company while getting divorced and becoming a single-mom of two teenage boys, has cost me a lot of my energy and lightheartedness
My last few years were quite turbulent - personally and generally. Everything around and within me changed rapidly and I was forced to adapt quickly. I had to question and redefine my identity and reflect upon things more profoundly. My season of life: Founder of a company while getting divorced. Mother of two teenage boys and two dogs. Leaving the city and moving to the countryside, becoming a patchwork mother of 4 kids from different cities every two weeks. My days were often more than fully packed and I realized that time was working against me: it was time to reflect on time.
"You have two lives. The second one begins when you notice you only have one." (Konfuzius)
What I certainly knew but I haven’t felt so clearly until then: life is short and unpredictable. Although I would call myself a resilient person, I felt completely thrown back. My personal manifest became clearer than ever: continuous change makes us less fragile. The more we re-program our mindset, the more we can move - in whatever direction we want to go. And the more time we invest in defining, educating and questioning ourselves, the faster we can move.
I realized there was no other way to cope with my everyday struggles but changing the way I manage life, work and my mental stability. Problems had to be solved. Challenges had to be dealt with, no matter if I liked them or not.
Change was inevitable.
“great people change you, not by expectation but by inspiration” (Naval Ravikant).
LISTENING AND LEARNING FROM THE (B)RIGHT PEOPLE IS A SOURCE OF ULTIMATE POWER AND EFFECTIVE CHANGE
progress requires unlearning, investing time in yourself brings you huge amounts of benefits and having a curious mind is a superpower that nobody can take away from you
Luckily, it was exactly at that moment of time, that I found the right sources to start a journey of personal development and empowerment. Reading, listening and learning from the (b)right people and sources is a game-changer. All we need to do is make investing in ourself a priority.
Although self-reflection and change can be painful processes, they are perfect opportunities to grow. Creating your own story, instead of letting others create it, feels so good! Being (un)happy is a choice.
letting go of old patterns, unlearning and reframing your brain are tools to change the game you're in - don't miss them!
You are invited to accompany me on a journey to extend your mind and empower yourself. I will share the tools that helped me on my way to create my own map.
I will introduce you to tidbits of (new) ideas and concepts in the shortest and most comprehensible way. I am more than thankful for every share, recommendation and forwarding of this email - especially to people who might find value in it.
Let’s build a community of infinite power and progress by gaining new knowledge, exchanging ideas and becoming the most antifragile version of ourselves.
Change your mind, change your life!
Yours, Anna
A little thought-inspiration for today
"It's easy to find ways to improve when you are genuinely curious about something. Rather than asking yourself, "How can I be better at this?" start by asking, "How can I be more curious about this?" by James Clear
